Meat, fish, eggs, cold drinks, caffeinated drinks can be taken in small quantities. Pregnant lady must drink at least 7-8 glasses of water daily to flush out the toxins out of the body. Saturated fats such as ghee and oil must be limited. Care must be taken if the pregnant woman is anemic as the there has been reported cases of women dying of pregnancy and childbirth since 1995. Hence a balanced diet is extremely essential for mother as well as her baby.
